Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) is one of the new build IIT institutes. It was founded in the year 2016 by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir and the Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India.

IIT Jammu started functioning from 2016 itself from a Temporary campus within Jammu city. The campus is well connected to Jammu city and is located on National Highway 44 (India)(Srinagar – Kanyakumari Highway), 6-7 km. from the main Jammu City.

The college offering Graduation level courses like B.Tech. IIT Jammu admitted the first batch of 82 bright students in August 2016 at a temporary campus in Paloura, Jammu.

B. Tech	One has to clear JEE Mains followed by JEE Advanced to get admission into the college.
M. Tech	Admission to postgraduate M.Tech programs is on the basis of marks obtained by the students in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE and through CCMT Counseling.
PhD	Admission to Ph.D. is done through NET/JRF/Internal Examinations.

Eligibility Criteria

To be admitted in the IIT Jammu, the Candidate should have passes these criteria to be eligible for Admission in IIT Jammu.

B. Tech	A Student should be passed the Final examination of the 10+2 system in Science with at least 75% marks (65% marks for SC/ST) from a recognized board.
M.Tech	Candidates must be Passed B.Tech for any stream to the recognized university with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) and must be qualified GATE.
PhD	Candidate must have a Master’s degree in Architecture/Planning/Technology in relevant discipline.
