The University of Zambia (UNZA), located in Lusaka, is the country’s largest and oldest educational institution. Established in 1965 and officially opened on July 12, 1966, UNZA operates on two campuses. The main campus, Great East Road Campus, is situated 6 km from the town center on Great East Road. The Ridgeway Campus, which houses the Medical School, is located 4 km southeast of Lusaka on John Mbita Road, opposite the University Teaching Hospital.
