Admission to the Uttar Pradesh BSc Nursing program is available in government and private colleges for eligible candidates. Selection is based on a merit list compiled from qualifying exam scores. Following the merit list’s publication, counselling sessions commence for Uttar Pradesh BSc Nursing admissions. There are discussions suggesting a shift towards a state-level entrance examination for admissions, aiming to standardize the process and centralize counselling. However, there’s been no official confirmation yet.

The BSc Nursing program spans four years and offers comprehensive nursing education. Prospective candidates aiming for Uttar Pradesh BSc Nursing Admission 2024 should have completed their 10+2 from either the Uttar Pradesh board or any other institution-recognized Board. Additionally, for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) taken together shall be 40% instead of 45% for General Category candidates..

Online Application Procedure For B.Sc. Nursing & M.Sc. Nursing Courses

  • Step 1 Register: Create a Login using a Valid Email ID, Mobile Number (OTP verification will be done), and a password of your choice. (Email Verification will be sent to the email ID; click the link to verify and Log in.) Note the login details for all future communications.
  • Step 2: Pay the examination fee as per Category by credit or debit card (Master/Visa card only), net banking, or UPI/BHIM on the link https://www.onlinesbi.com/. On successful payment, the candidate will receive a Receipt with ten 10-character alphanumeric Transaction ID numbers (e.g., DUFxxxxxxx). Save the receipt for uploading when submitting payment details.
  • Step 3 Payment Details Entry: The candidate will log in and fill in the Payment Details. To complete the application form, a scanned copy of the bank receipt must be uploaded, and the Alphabetic transaction ID must be mentioned. The candidate will receive an Email with Payment confirmation (within two working days). After confirmation, the candidate can proceed to the next step.
  • Step 4 Upload Photo, Signature, and Sample Sheet: Upload your passport-size colour photograph, scanned signature and scanned copy of The Sample Sheet (Format Attached) for (Signature, Handwriting Sample, Thumb Impression and Identification Mark).
  • Photograph: The photograph should be full face, from the front, with a white background and without spectacles. A placard showing the name of the candidate and the date of the photograph taken should be placed on the chest. The format (.jpg) should be between (20-200 KB in size) (sample given online).
  • Signature: The Signature should be clear in black ink, and the format (.jpg) should be between (20-200 KB size) Sample Sheet: The Sample Sheet as per the format attached, the format (.jpg) should be between (200-500 KB size)  
  • Step 5 Application Form Filling, Review and Finally Submit:  Fill all the entries in the application form carefully and check them before final submission as wrongly filled. The incomplete application form will be rejected, and no enquiry will be entertained regarding this. Online Examination centres may increase or decrease as per the choices given (Allahabad, Agra, Bareilly, Gautam Budh Nagar (NOIDA), Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Varanasi). The Centre, once allotted, will not be changed, even if it is not as per the choice preference.

No corrections will be allowed after the final submission. Please print out the completed application form for your reference. There is no need to send the printed application.

Uttar Pradesh B.Sc. Nursing Admission Eligibility Criteria

Age LimitThe minimum age for admission is 17 years on or before 31st December 2024
Minimum QualificationA:- Candidates with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) taken together and passed in English individually from any recognized board.
B:- In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) taken together shall be 40% instead of 45% for General Category candidates.
C:- English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for eligibility for admission in B.Sc. Nursing.
D:- Candidates are also eligible for State Open School recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by the central government as having Science subjects and English only.
E:- Colour Blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
F:- The selection of candidates will be subject to medical fitness. No selected candidate will be permitted to join the course unless declared medically fit by the Medical Board constituted by the Government Medical College or the District CMO.
G:- Married candidates are also eligible

Uttar Pradesh M.Sc. Nursing Admission Eligibility Criteria

Qualificationa) The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with the State Nursing Registration Council of Uttar Pradesh state (UP Nurses and Midwives Council)
b) If the candidate is a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing
c) Registration Council outside Uttar Pradesh state, they will be eligible if their institution/college is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
The Minimum education requirement shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks
Experiencea) Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing/ B.Sc Hons. Nursing course.
b) Minimum one year of work experience before or after the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing course.
Medical FitnessThe selection of candidates will be subject to medical fitness. No selected candidate will be permitted to join the course unless declared medically fit by the Medical Board. The decision of the medical board shall be final.

Uttar Pradesh Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Admission Eligibility Criteria

ParticularEligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualificationa) Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate (12th Standard examination) or (10+2) or an equivalent exam recognized by the University for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986 will be eligible for admission.
b) Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council of Uttar Pradesh (UP Nurses and Midwives Council).
c) For candidates who have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council outside Uttar Pradesh state will be eligible if their institution/college is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
For Male CandidatesA male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with the State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration instead of midwifery in any one of the following areas: (O.T. Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopedic Nursing)
PH CandidatesColour blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
Medical FitnessThe selection of candidates will be subject to medical fitness. No selected candidate will be permitted to join the course unless declared medically fit by the Medical Board appointed by the University. The decision of the Medical Board shall be final.

Reservation Criteria

Reservation as per the State Govt. under the reservation policy and within the sanctioned number of seats by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and not above it. Any will follow the Uttar Pradesh State government directives.

For UG Courses

  • Reservation for disability (PH): A 5% Horizontal reservation will be considered for disabled candidates with a locomotor disability of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity. Other eligibility criteria regarding qualification will be the same as prescribed for the Unreserved (UR) category candidates.
    NOTE: A committee will be formed consisting of medical officers authorized by the Medical
    The Board of State Government and a nursing expert on the panel may decide whether the candidate has a 40% to 50% locomotor disability.
  • Caste certificates issued by ONLY the competent authority (Tehsildar) of the Uttar Pradesh Government are acceptable.
  • An EWS quota of 10% is permissible, provided a valid certificate issued by a competent authority (Tehsildar) of the Uttar Pradesh Government is furnished.
  • All the certificates should be issued on or after 1st April 2024.

  • Applicants need to visit the university’s official website to check the results.
  • Counselling Fees
  • Candidates need to pay a fee of INR 5,500 online. No other mode of transaction will be accepted.

NOTE: The Vice-Chancellor’s decision in selecting candidates for admission to the course shall be final, and no appeal shall be entertained on this subject. In case of any legal dispute, the jurisdiction will be Lucknow courts and the Judicature of Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench only.

Counselling

Those Candidates who have participated in the entrance exam and are on the merit list declared by the university are eligible for the online counselling process.

How to register for online counselling?

Once submitted, the registration form entries cannot be changed; hence, candidates must ensure that they enter the required information below correctly.

  • After providing the roll number, the candidate can check their eligibility for counselling. If he/she is eligible for counselling, he/she can proceed with registration by providing their Mobile Number and email ID.
  • Mobile Number: Must be valid. The candidate will receive counselling-related information only at the provided number.
  • Email Address: Must be valid. The candidate will receive counselling-related information on the email address as well.

Choice filling

  • Choice filling: The candidate must fill in all desired college Preferences in the choice filling Form.
  • Candidates can check their saved preferences using the Print Preview option on the screen. They can then save the document for future reference.
  • Candidates cannot make changes within the Choice filling Form after the last date of Choice Locking.

Seat Allotment: The seat will be allotted according to the merit list later.

Reservation

What will be the eligibility criteria for Post Basic B.Sc? Nursing?

Minimum qualifications for admission are as per the latest INC regulation.
a) Candidates with Science who have passed qualifying 12th Standard Examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) taken together and passed in English individually from any recognized board.
b) Candidates are also eligible for State Open Schools recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by the central government, having Science subjects and English only.
