Aligarh Muslim University is a central government university in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in the year 1920. It evolved from the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental (MAO) which was founded on 7 January 1877 by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, a great visionary and social reformer. Spread over 467.6 hectares, AMU offers more than 300 courses in traditional and modern education fields. The university welcomes students of all castes, religions and genders. It ranks 8th among India’s top 20 research universities.

Admission Procedure
The admission process includes filling out an application form, appearing for an entrance exam and attending counselling sessions based on exam scores. The procedure to get admission to Aligarh Muslim University is listed below.
- For UG Courses: Admission to the M.B.B.S and B.D.S courses is based on merit in the NEET UG Exam. For other undergraduate courses, candidates must take the relevant entrance exam, such as CUET UG.

Cutoff
The AMU Cutoff is the minimum mark prescribed by the selection board for the admission of students. A merit list will be designed based on these cutoff scores.
