The Central University of Odisha was set up in 2009 under the Central Universities Act by the Indian government. It is one of 20 new central universities created during the 11th UGC Plan to improve “equity and access” in education. The goal was to provide more opportunities for quality higher education in areas with lower-than-average college enrollment rates, helping students in less-developed districts access better educational resources.

Admission Procedure

In this section, we have mentioned the admission procedure for the Central University of Odisha. Check the procedure listed below.

  • Candidates may apply through the prescribed application form duly filled in all respects.
  • Admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the Central University of Odisha is based on any one of the all-India Common Admission Tests i.e. CUET UG/CUET PG & other entrance test and submit valid test scores not more than 2 years old.
  • The applications of the candidates not have a valid score in the entrance exam will not be entertained.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission into the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs candidates need to meet eligibility criteria set by the Central University of Odisha. We have listed the eligibility criteria in the table below.

B.Ed.Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree (Science/Arts) and/or at least 50% marks in the Master’s Degree (Science/Arts), at least 55% marks in Bachelor’ in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics. A relaxation of (5% of marks will be given to SC/ST/PwD candidates).
M.Phil. Programme Any candidate with 55% marks in Master’s degree in Education from a recognized University /Institution (5% relaxation will be given to OBC (Non Creamy layer)Sc/ST/PWD candidates and for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991).
Ph.D. ProgrammeAny candidate with 55% marks in Master’s degree in Education from a recognized University /Institution (5% relaxation will be given to OBC (Non Creamy layer)Sc/ST/PWD candidates and for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991).
