Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University India’s first pharmacy university and the third worldwide, was established by Delhi’s State Legislature in 2008 and became fully operational in 2015. With roots dating back 57 years, it evolved from a D. Pharm. program in 1964 to the Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR) before becoming DPSRU. The university, fully state-funded and UGC-recognized, is governed by the General Council with the Lt. Governor as Chancellor and supported by a Board of Governors, Academic Council and Finance Committee that includes distinguished external members.
