Manipur University was set up as a State University on June 5, 1980 and became a Central University on October 13, 2005. It has nine Schools of Studies, 47 departments and seven Centres of Studies. The University is linked to 119 affiliated colleges, including three important medical colleges. The Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT) is a key part of the University’s School of Engineering. In 2023, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) gave the University a ‘B+’ grade.

Application Process
Below we have mentioned the application process for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Admission to all PG and UG programmes of Manipur University will be done on the basis of the Common University Entrance Test- (CUET-PG and CUET-UG) only.
- A candidate applying to Manipur University PG/UG programmes must have appeared in CUET(PG)/CUET(UG), conducted by NTA.
- The candidate must satisfy all eligibility criteria for the Program(s) for which he/she is applying. He/She must have also appeared in
CUET(PG)/CUET(UG) in the relevant Test Paper/s fulfilling the Program-Specific Eligibility. - If a candidate has applied to Manipur University but doesn’t fulfill the eligibility criteria as per the requirement of the particular Program, his/her candidature will not be considered.
- The candidates must submit the registration fees for each program selected by them.
- Applications for admission are to be submitted only through online at https://www.manipuruniv.ac.in with an application fee of Rs. 300/- for General/OBC/EWS and Rs.200/- for SC/ST/PWD.
- Application Forms and E-Prospectus will be made available online only.
- For Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), only one pedagogy can be opted by the applicant.
List of Pedagogy offered: Biological Science, English, Manipuri, Mathematics, Physical Science, Social Science. - Incomplete applications shall be summarily rejected.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission into the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs candidates need to meet eligibility criteria set by Manipur University. We have listed the eligibility criteria in the table below.

| MBA | Graduate from recognized Universities Indian or Foreign. National level examinations like CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT/ GMAT shall be considered as approved examinations for the written test or any other test as decided by the MBA Admission Committee of the Institute from time to time. The applicant should submit the valid score of the written test along with the application form to the Institute.
