National Sanskrit University, earlier known as Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha is a central university in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The school was established in 1961 under the Ministry of Education by the Government of India an Act of Parliament and premier institution in the field of higher learning in Sanskrit studies, Traditional Sastras and Sanskrit Teacher Education. It was funded by the Ministry of Education through UGC. The University has a long history in the service of Sanskrit education. In the year 1987, the Vidyapeetha was declared as a Deemed to be University by the Government of India. Admission Procedure
The admission to National Sanskrit University is based on CUET UG, CUET PG, NCET and VVET for various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses. All candidates seeking admission must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria for the respective courses and entrance tests. The candidates seeking admission should submit the application on the Samarth Portal only. The university admission process aims to maintain transparency and provide equal opportunities to all eligible candidates. The following guidelines describe the admission procedure that can help candidates secure admission to their desired programs at National Sanskrit University.
- For PhD programs, candidates must qualify for the VVET (Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test).
- Undergraduate programs such as BA, B.Ed, and other UG courses require candidates to clear the NCET (National Common Entrance Test). Admissions to other undergraduate programs are based on the CUET UG (Common University Entrance Test—Undergraduate).
- Postgraduate programs require qualifying for the CUET PG (Common University Entrance Test – Postgraduate).

For the candidates Shiksha Acharya (M.Ed.) belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD category, a relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the minimum pass percentage.
