National Institute of Technology Raipur is one of the best engineering colleges in Chhattisgarh and it is also known as NIT Raipur. The college is one among the thirty-one National Institute of Technology in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
NIT Raipur was established in the year 1956 in a joint venture between the government of Madhya Pradesh and Government of India. Later in 2005, the college was upgraded to National Institute of Technology Raipur. In the same year, the college was granted Deemed University Status with the approval of the University Grants Commission.

| B.Tech | Candidate must have to clear the JEE (MAIN) exam with flying colour and must have to secure at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in Class 12th exam for any recognized board of India. There is special allotment of seats reserved for the top 20 percentile in Class 12th exam conducted by the respective board. |
| M.Tech | Admission in postgraduate M.Tech programs is based on marks obtained by the students in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering-GATE and through CCMT Counseling. To pursue a Master Degree in Engineering/Technology, a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI equivalent to 60% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute. Candidate with GATE score will be given Preference. The postgraduate admissions for Master in Computer Application are made based on NIMCET. |
