It is affiliated with the University Grants Commission (UGC) and received an A+ accreditation from NAAC in 2022. Established in 1996 by P.K. Gupta and Y.K. Gupta, it is part of the Sharda Group of Institutions. The group expanded in 2024 with the establishment of Sharda University Agra (SUA), its sister college in Agra.
