Admission Procedure
The admission process typically involves filling out an application form, appearing for an entrance exam and participating in counselling sessions based on exam scores. Here in this section, we have mentioned the admission procedure to get admission to DU. Check the procedure listed below.
UG Courses
- DU UG admissions (2024) based on CUET (UG) – 2024 scores (excludes SOL, NCWEB, foreign students).
- Candidates must complete Class XII from a recognized board.
- Relevant CUET subjects are required for the desired DU program.
- Choose a related CUET subject if the exact one isn’t available.
- Admission is based on Language, Domain-Specific and General CUET scores.
- Only CUET (UG) – 2024 scores are valid for 2024-25.
- Fill out the CUET form carefully; details auto-integrate with DU.
- The name in CUET must match school certificates.
- No minimum age, except for programs requiring it by regulatory bodies.
- Gap years accepted if criteria met.
- CUET score adjustments will be made if needed.
PG Courses
Procedure of Online Admissions for all PG Programmes (Through SOL website)
- Visit the SOL website and login for online admission.
- Fill in all the relevant information on the Course Details page/Personal Details page.
- Upload all scanned copies of the relevant documents. (legible/clear)
- After upload of the documents, a payment link will be made available after only verification. (This may take 3-5 days)
- After successful payment, download the Fee Receipt and Identity Card.
PhD Courses
- To qualify a candidate must secure 50% marks in the Entrance Test.
- Merely qualifying the Entrance Test does not guarantee the award of fellowship and admission to Ph.D Course.
- The Candidate shall select one of the Sub-disciplines offered by the Department at the time of advertisement and online application.
- The final selection of Candidates is based on the interview for assessing the applicant’s competency for the proposed research/sub-discipline, feasibility of the research work at the Institution, the relevance of proposed area of research to contribute to new/additional knowledge; and also subject to the availability of seats; consent of the supervisor; and in accordance with the University rules.
- The admission of selected candidates is subject to fulfilment of the eligibility conditions and verification of her/his documents after the declaration of result of the interview as per University’s relevant statute, ordinance, guidelines, etc.
- The Department /University reserve the right to change the number of Fellowships or not award any Fellowship /Ph.D. positions in a Calendar Year.

UG Programmes | Program Specific Eligibilities Candidate must refer to the Program-Specific Eligibility to choose the subjects in which s(he) should appear in CUET (UG) – 2024. It is mandatory for the candidates to appear in CUET(UG)-2024 in those subjects in which s(he) is appearing/ has passed Class XII. For the purpose of ascertaining Program Specific Eligibility and for mapping the CUET subject(s) with Class XII subject(s), marksheet of more than one recognized board may be considered provided the candidate has passed those subjects in Class XII. |
PG Programmes | The minimum marks required for admission to the program are 50% for candidates belonging to UR/OBC/EWS category and 45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD category.
