Admission Procedure
Online Registration for Admission to Class I in Kendriya Vidyalaya will commence. Class II and above registration will be done if vacancies exist (in offline mode). Generally, the application form is published. The regional office will announce the date in the local newspapers. The application form is made available through the online/offline mode.
Who Can Apply
- Admission to KV is (first for the central government), (second for state government employees) and third for private employees.
- 1st selection: central government employees ward.
- 2nd selection: army and ex-army man-child
- 3rd selection: employees
- 4th selection: single girl child quota
- 5th selection: self-employed personnel
Note:- No registration charge is applicable. All the candidates collect the application form from the principal school free of cost.
Admission Process for Class 10th & 12th
Fresh admissions to classes 10th & 12th, other than KV students, will be entertained subject to the availability of vacancies. Such admissions to classes 10th and 12th will be considered by the Deputy Commissioner of the Region concerned only if the average strength in class 10th/12th is below 40. This will further be subject to the following conditions:
- The child has been in the same course of studies, i.e. in a CBSE-affiliated school.
- For Class 10th, the child must have obtained not less than 55% marks in aggregate in class 9th.
- For admission to class 12th, 55% marks in the class 11th examination is mandatory.
- The child should otherwise be eligible as per KVS admission guidelines.
- The student’s combinations of subjects are available in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Admission Process for Class 11th
Admission in different streams viz Science, Commerce, Humanities of Class 11th in KVs for KV students will be based on aggregate marks scored in class 10th exams as under:
- Science Stream: A minimum of 60% Marks in aggregate of all subjects.
- Commerce: A minimum of 55% Marks in aggregate of all subjects.
- Humanities Stream: All students of KV if declared successful in the class 10th exam.
Note: If seats remain vacant in class 11th even after admitting the children of KV/neighbouring KVs, the admissions to non-KV children may be granted on the same criteria in the sequence of priority categories.
