Particulars	Description
Diploma Course	UG: Candidates must have passed the secondary or equivalent examinations with English, Physical Science and Mathematics with 35 % marks (without rounding up) in aggregate (excluding additional subjects). Lateral Entry: Maximum of 20 % of sanctioned intake will be filled on a super-numerary basis from the students passing 12th Class (Science) with Vocational / Technical subjects or X th+ (2-year ITI) with appropriate specialisation. ITI candidates must possess an NCVT certificate before they apply for Admission.
Domicile	Candidate must be a resident of Darjeeling District or Kalimpong District.
Age	There is no upper age limit; however, the candidates should not be born after the stipulated date (information will be provided).

Selection of Candidates

• Selection for admission to all seats of the Full-Time Diploma Courses will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Madhyamik or its equivalent examination as approved by WBSCTE / Government of West Bengal from time to time.
• 30 % of the total seats in each branch will be filled up by the candidates of three Hill Sub-Divisions i.e. Mirik, Kurseong, Darjeeling (Sadar) and Kalimpong District and Siliguri Sub Division of Darjeeling District. 50 % of these seats will be reserved for female candidates. Female seats will be converted to male seats in case of the non-availability of a sufficient number of Female candidates.
• 70 % of the total seats in each branch will be filled up by the candidates of three Hill Sub-Divisions of Mirik, Kurseong, Darjeeling (Sadar) and Kalimpong District.
• The admission of candidates belonging to SC, ST and Physically Challenged categories will be as per existing Government norms. Candidates must produce a Provisional Certificate issued by the S.D.O. if the original is not issued.
• Note: 5% of the total intake will be awarded TWF (Tuition Fee Waiver) as per existing government norms and conditions after the admission process.

2. The duly filled-in application form with a recent Passport sized photo and copy of a) Marks Sheet (Madhyamik / Equivalent or Vocational / ITI) b) Admit Card of Madhyamik / Birth Certificate c) Residential Certificate from SDO Office d) SC / ST Certificate can be submitted at Darjeeling Polytechnic on or before the last date which is announced.
3. No other supporting documents are to be submitted at the time of submission of forms. However, eligibility documents in original have to be produced and a set of photocopies of those documents have to be submitted at the time of counselling/admission.
